Petty Cash Cafe – best cafe experience

Petty Cash Cafe

Visting Petty Cash Cafe last week was probably one of the best café experiences I’ve ever had with the kids, anywhere in the world. The food is good, the café quirky and the people that run it are excellent!

Petty Cash Cafe is so relaxed and welcoming I wish it was around the corner from my home and not on the other side of the City. I am going to the airport next week so maybe I should just pop past on my way there.

Now I’m not sure of council lines so I don’t know if Petty Cash Cafe is in Enmore or Marrickville.

I had no clue it even existed until I landed up in Marrickville or is it Enmore with a hungry child. Granted, I had never been to Enmore or Marrickville before. If you’re ever in either and starving or just mildly peckish, you need to pop in!

Where is Petty Cash Cafe

Address and location

The official address for Petty Cash Cafe is 68 Victoria Road, Marrickville, NSW 2204.

The reason I say that it could be Enmore is because that is what my car’s GPS picked up. And, it’s directly opposite Enmore Park Playground. A review on that too will be up later.

Parking

There plenty of on-street parking all along Victoria Road.

Petty Cash Cafe Food

The food is so good and the menu caters for vegans with plenty of vegan items on the menu.

I had the sweet corn fritters with bacon and they were delicious. It was a massive decision because the vegetarian tarts looked so good and I would have loved to try the beetroot salad. Next time!

My kids had bacon on toast which has become a favourite of theirs at the moment. The bacon was delicious and the kids fought for the toast so much so we had to get a second helping. We had to get a second order and this time tried out the home made strawberry jam.

Petty Cash Cafe serves breakfast all day which should be a winner in anyone’s books.

Why do we love Petty Cash Cafe?

Aside from the food, the Cafe was SO child friendly. I don’t mean that they tolerate kids or even allow them but they are great, just great with kids.

Just after we arrived my daughter knocked her juice off the table and went all over the floor. Of course I got up and tried to clean it but they were there to help me and even brought her a brand new juice with a hole in the top with a straw through so that she wouldn’t spill again.

Not only did they help me out but they wouldn’t let me pay for the replacement.

Now that is what I call child friendly!!!!

The food was cut up to the children’s specifications and there were toys and books to keep the kids attention.

The Cafe itself is so cool. While it is very trendy and I am not trendy at all, I felt completely comfortable there and could have stayed all afternoon. I would have worked through their cakes and slices no doubt.

Petty Cash Facilities

Thankfully Petty Cash takes cards and does take aways. So even if you would rather sit in the playground you can grab one of their dishes to go.

There is the standard high chairs and plastic cutlery, thank goodness. While the Café is not very big, there is space for the kids at the tables. When we visited quite a few other kids and babies were having lunch with their folks. Two moms had their prams with them while catching a quick coffee.

There is a bathroom in the café which means you don’t have to go walk around to try find a loo.

I really hope that if you’re in the area, you’ll give this place a try!

I’ve been really bad at reviewing all the restaurants and cafes. So in list form, some of the Cafes and Restaurants that we’ve visited with the kids on the Northern Beaches are set out below.
