Seeds and Co

 – A Nursery Cafe in Terry Hills

Terry Hills Nursery Cafe Scene

Seeds and Co had been on my must-see list for ages!

There are few nurseries in Terry Hills on the Upper North Shore that have great cafes. Two of them, that I know of, have playground areas for kids to play. We have been trying to get to these two cafes all year and in September we managed to see both.

Seeds and Co

Seeds and Co, in the Flower Power Center (Bonds Nursery to the locals) was formerly Cafe Mirabelle. As we had never been there before I can’t compare the new cafe to the previous. However, I can tell you that it’s beautifully decorated and a nice place to visit with or without the kids.

Where is Seeds and Co

You can find Seeds and Co at 277 Mona Vale Road, Terry Hills, 2084, NSW. It is in the Flower Power Centre, as you enter its is to the left. The locals call it Bonds Nursery.

Food at Seeds and Co

The menu isn’t extensive but has a number of good options for you and the kids.

We started out with sweet treats and then moved on to chips for lunch. The kids had the amazing amazing berry and white chocolate muffin and a cinnamon scroll. Naturally I went in for the large coffee 🙂 After their tea, I couldn’t get them to eat anything from  the kiddies menu which included fish, nuggets and pizza.

Seeds and Co Features

One of the main reasons we ventured to Seeds and Co was to check its suitability for kids and families. I knew there was a playground but I wanted to experience it for myself.

We arrived and were greeted warmly by the waitresses. We were offered a high chair and some paper and crayons for the kids. Good start I say! It took nano-seconds for the kids to ask to play on the playground.

The Playground

The playground is completely enclosed and directly next to Seeds and Co. You can sit at a table having your coffee or meal and watch your kids, it’s great. I’ve included pictures below so you can see for yourself.

The playground itself comprises of two independent structures both made largely of metal. Unfortunately it is a little run down and needs a repaint and resurface.

As there are no steps going up to the structures (there are metal bars) it’s probably not suitable for any kids under the age of 2. This is unless you’re there to pick them up onto the structure every time they want to play.

The toilet facilities are just beyond the playground and although there is no family bathroom there is a counter-top in the ladies bathroom on which you could maybe change a baby, I didn’t test it myself.

On the day we visited it was very quiet and the playground was generally empty. It was only my two and another child at any given point. But we did visit during school term during the week so maybe it’s busier on the weekend. We will have to wait and see.

Opening hours

The cafe is open from 8am to 5pm and the menu is accessible here.
