Ironbark Pizza Restaurant and Cafe, Manly

Ironbark – The most Family Friendly Pizza Place in Manly

The first time we visited we were stuck in Manly around dinner time and knew if the kids didn’t eat soon we’d have some serious problems. I did some googling and found Ironbark Pizza Restuarant and Cafe where kids eat free if you order before 6:30pm. What a jolly good discover.

Ironbark is now our default place to eat if we’re out with the kids in Manly around dinner time.

Where is Ironbark

Location and address

The official address is 208 Pittwater Road, Manly, 2095. If you know Manly its closer to the big Harris Farms that it is to the ferry terminal.

Parking

There is on street parking on Pitterwater and the roads running off Pittwater.

When we visit we get parking along Rolfe Street which is less than a two minute walk to the restaurant including the time you wait at the traffic light to cross Pittwater.

Ironbark Features

From the minute you step in you know what you’re in for – family friendly Italian.

The decor yells Italian Pizzeria. I love the red checkered table clothes, waxed covered candles and wooden tables. You can sit inside or outside on the covered verandah.

If you visit in summer you want to sit outside, along with the other families who are out with their kids. In winter you want to sit inside where the pizza oven warms up the whole seating area.

Family Friendly

As soon as you arrive you are shown your table and offered a high chair or booster seat. You’ll also be given the option of plenty of colouring-in sheets and crayons.  We generally go with Batman, Lightening McQueen, Star Wars and Sophia The First. Thankfully the great staff don’t complain when each child wants two or three colouring sheets each.

The service is always quick and we are always able to eat, colour and pay all before the kids get too worn out.

You can tell that it’s loved amongst the locals because of how quickly it gets full of families around 6pm.

One thing I love about the place is the hostess, she is absolutely divine with the kids and completely attentive to us and them without being overbearing.

Food

Naturally, the good choices are pizza but there are pastas and some other options. Our family has had the pizza and pasta and its all been good. You can access the menu here. We paid $64 for an adult pizza, adult pasta, Cole, decaf cuppachino, kids juice and kid’s icecream.

The kids’ meals would have cost about $15 each but were free because we ordered within the time frame. The kids had the smiley face pizza (which was loved) and the chicken and chips (also devoured).
