There are plenty of things happening in Sydney today.

Some of these are only on for today while others are on throughout the school holidays.

You’ll also see that these are all over the City.

 

What’s on in Sydney today – just today

  • Harry Potter-ing Cruise on the Nepean Belle. 2 hours on the River with games too. There are two cruises with various food options. You can find all the details and tickets on the Nepean Belle website. And if you’ve never been, check out our full review here. We had a lovely time on board.
  • Garden Grubs Full day school holiday program at the Royal Botanical Garden. Strictly for kids aged 6 to 12 years old. You can get more information and book into the program HERE.
  • Holiday KinderCrafte at the Casula Powerhouse from 10 to 11am you can join the creative exploration with your children and become inspired to make a take-home artwork through investigative art play in this creative playgroup. Tickets cost $10 and you can get more information and make a booking at the Casula Powerhouse website HERE.
  • Bop Till You Drop Performing Arts Program Day 1 in Gladesville. The creative kids voucher may be accepted. Click here to link to their website so that you can book tickets.
  • Baking Cookies plus a full day’s entertainment at Aussie Gems. There is so much on offer at Aussie Gems as each day also includes Nerf Battles, Ninja or Parkour, Basketball and Gymnastics.   • Halloween Candy Decorating at The Grounds of Alexandria. More information and tickets can be found HERE.
  • Harry Potter Potions Workshop at Harbord Diggers. Click here for more information and tickets for the Harbord Diggers Events.
  • Slime Art with Little Creative Co Party Time at the Newport. Last school holiday we did sand art with the little creative co and it was great fun. It was a busy to start with so make sure you get there early.
  • Free interactive performances from Spiderman, Frozen or Moana characters or Captain America at Fratelli Fresh Darling Harbour. And the Kids eat free menu is available every day. See below for some more details on this!
  • Day 2 of drawing on a Younger Mind at the Casula Powerhouse. This activity allows students to develop their visual thinking. They will be introduced to new perspectives on drawing and get to create innovative artworks to take home. Engage in ideas based on the drawing practice of modern and contemporary artists. $60 for two days and you can buy tickets online HERE.
  • Day 1 of Junior Clay School Holiday School at the Casula Powerhouse. Squash it, shape it, roll it, join it, break it, and re-join it and create with it! Clay School will give kids the chance to experience this amazing material, learn new skills and apply their imagination to its addictive diversity. $60 for two days and you can buy tickets online HERE.

The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe

The Marian Street Theatre is presenting an adaptation of The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe.

This adaptation has been created for the stage in a unique, warm-hearted style, brought to life by the company of young artists.

Spooksville at Luna Park

Spooksville is a FREE, family event on the Lavender Green at Luna Park. There is going to be a trick or treat trail presented by Wizz Fizz, face painting, spooky showtime performances, a best dressed competition as well as special Halloween-themed food offerings.

It’s free to enter and participate in the trick or treat trail. Face painting and other activities will be $2 per activity with 100% of the profits donated by Luna Park to the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation.

Spooksville is a FREE, family event on the Lavender Green at Luna Park and it starts during Sydney Spring School Holidays 2019.

Fo Fum Fiesta

The Art Gallery of NSW is celebrating colour, music, artmaking and movement at the inaugaral Fo Fum Feista.

This is a FREE festival aimed at inspiring young minds. Whether your child is musical or artistic or neither but keen to try then this is the place to visit these school holidays.

Families can roll up their sleeves and get hands-on with free artmaking and performance workshops; take a guided tour of the collection with artist David Capra and his sausage dog Teena; move and groove to live music and performances; hear stories; play and create or sit back and enjoy a free family flick in our artist-curated film series.

Lego Building at Artarmon HQ

Let your imagination run wild in A LEGO pit these school holidays.

It’s on between 10am and 4pm during school holidays and is on the Lower Ground opposite Petstock.

Gold coin entry per participant.  All participants will receive a FREE gift.

All proceeds will go towards purchasing LEGO bricks for Royal North Shore Hospital.

What’s on at the movies

I’ve seen various adverts for Angry Birds 2 so I know that’s on and the new Dora. My daughter loves Dora but I don’t know if maybe the movie is just a bit too old for her.

Event Cinemas have a program of free art activities. From making bookmarks, hats, masks and more, the arts and crafts activities are themed to the family films showing during the school break.

You must visit Event Cinemas website for scheduled activities and Family Saver tickets and session times, as details and availability vary.

Space Odyssey Tinkertoreum at the Powerhouse Museum

The kids can take part in a series of tinkering challenges to help start new habitats in space and work as a team to create a space pod using new and recycled materials.

The Powerhouse has said that this event is suitable for kids 2 years and older. Kids are free but adults will have to pay for entry.
