We're stuck indoor so I've had to find some really good printables for Kids, for mine and for yours to keep busy.

FREE Printables for Kids

Ever get stuck looking for quality FREE printable for kids? I do! All the time, just as I think I’ve found a great one I land up on a site that wants to charge me for it or I land up on something utterly different. I’m not going to tell you some of the disasters I’ve had.

With our children stuck indoors and potentially missing periods of school, we need all the resources we can get! If you follow AllThingsMomSydney you will know that I’ve been collating great FREE Online Resources For Kids which will keep your child entertained for a little bit without you having to be too involved.

After that post went live a few people reached out to me asking for help with information about where to get good printables.

Now, after a search I’ve found some really really great FREE Printables For Kids. I’ve tried to ensure that there is no need to “login” or “subscribe” to anything to be able to access these free printables.

While there are thousands and thousands of these online, I’ve checked all of these and printed out some of them for my own kids so hopefully they are all easy to access and trustworthy for you too. If you have any issues with these, please reach out to me so that I can resolve it immediately.

If you're looking for where to find trusted FREE Printables for Kids, I've put together this list,a bit of literacy, maths, pencil control and conceptual activities.

FREE Printables for Kids

I’ve tried to focus on printables that are beneficial to our kids education or skills. Slightly beyond colouring in, these should help with pencil control or letter formation, writing or mathematics or understanding abstract or conceptual ideas.

Most of these are for kids who are in preschool or just started school. I know that these are easy for my son who is 7 but he will still like just doing them to keep busy so I would say that they are probably not challenging at all for kids ages 6+ but rather just fun to play with. But… But all kids are at different levels so there is no guarantee really, is there.

I am so unbelievably grateful to all the people who created these FREE printables for kids. Being stuck inside is no fun when you have kids who need to be entertained so this is a great way to get it done at the moment.

Pencil Control

This is such an important basic skill. It’s where all the fine motor skills come together. You may brush this off as boring or too simple but it is absolutely essential. Especially now with a lot of learning going online and kids typing more than writing.

This one is a little harder with lots of sharp twists and turns.

The next link is to a site called Planes and Balloons and it’s brilliant with lots of activities. I’ve added a link to tracing circles from this site which is really difficult for kids in junior school, not just the little little ones. This is great for pencil control and fine motor skills.

Literacy

This covers everything to do with reading and writing.

Colouring In Letters

Your child can work their way through the alphabet, colouring each letter as they go and understanding how it works in words and what it looks like in Upper Case and Lower Case.

Tracing Letters

Again, this seems really easy to do but good letter formation is the key to writing properly later on. I know, I have a 5 year old whose handwriting is better than my 7 year old and it all comes down to having not been strict with his letter formation years ago.

Find The Letter

I love this activity sheet and it has to be one of my favourites of the free printables for kids!!

I printed it out as soon as I saw it. Your child has to find the letter. What is interesting is that younger kids know their alphabets and can identify the letter but not always if you muddle the order up or stick a letter in which a bunch of others. This is a good way to test letter recognition.

What I did to prolong the activity is have them colour each letter in a different colour or shade of colour so it became a colouring-in activity too.

Alphabet dot-to-dot

Well I have never done an alphabet dot to dot but my 7 year old assures me it is something he has done before. Thank goodness for school hey!

Read and Colour

To colour in the picture correctly you have to read which colours to use. Even if your child can’t read the entire sentence, just identifying the name of the colour is a huge development.

Mazes

Telling the time

This category is specifically for my 7 year old. He told me he hates telling the time analog style and having to write it out. It may sound like i’m torturing him but when it comes to conceptual and abstract learning he is generally excited so if he says he hates something, it means he doesn’t understand it or hasn’t mastered it.
