Bernie Mullane Sports Complex Playground, Kellyville

Our initial review of the Bernie Mullane playground was first published in June 2016 but has now been updated to reflect the amazing water play aspects that have been added.

I have left some of the original pictures in because it makes me very nostalgic looking at how little my kids were then.

I remember being blown away by the Bernie Mullane Playground when we first visited it and now with the renovations, it is even better.

In this post, I’ll share information on how to get there, the highlights of the playground (features) and what is there (facilities). I will also give you an indication of what age the playground is suitable for.

How to get there

For local mums, you’ll know how to get there so just skip on down to the rest of the information and tell me if you agree 🙂

My internet search wielded the address as Marella Avenue, Kellyville, 2155 . This address did not work very well. Thankfully, the Centre is massive and easy to spot. The playground is also visible as you enter to it’s a good enough address to follow.

I’ve included the map below so you know where to go when you hit Green Road in Kellyville.

Parking

There is parking on-site and it is extensive. You won’t have a problem with parking unless there is an event or it’s a cool day in the middle of school holidays.

Bernie Mullane Playground Features

It’s a big playground, there is quite a bit of equipment and it’s nicely separated out making space for kids to just run too.

The playground has a variety of elements to it. With all the things that are available I was only able to note:

  • Slides for all sizes.
  • Some swings.
  • Drums. (yes drums!!).
  • Hoops to crawl through.
  • Ropes to climb.
  • Plastic stepping stones.
  • Lots of little spring rides.
  • Spider nets to climb.

There are also grassy patches within the fenced playground so you can picnic with the kids and they’re able to play and eat as they please.

The playground makes some provision for accessibility with a liberty swing.

Bernie Mullane Playground Facilities

The whole area from the parking to the playground and all around the playground is flat. This makes the playground accessible to prams and kids in wheelchairs.

The entire playground is enclosed so you don’t have to worry about your escapologist trying to make a break for it.

There wasn’t a trike track but there was so much to do and explore that my three year old was entertained!

The playground was busy busy but we did only get there at 11am and it is school holidays so next time we will go earlier and update the post 🙂

I am not sure there is a cafe, I didn’t see one but I will also look into this because who doesn’t need a coffee or fourteen when it comes to parenting.
