There are plenty of things happening in Sydney today.

Some of these are only on for today while others are on throughout the school holidays.

You’ll also see that these are all over the City.

 

What’s on in Sydney today – just today

  • Play Her Way brought to NSW by LEGO® Australia. This FREE event at the Overseas Passenger Terminal is an interactive event to inspire the next generation of Australian girls. Ticketed two-hour sessions will be running throughout both days, so make sure you register for free online. Register online HERE.
  • Kids Yoga at The Collaroy at 10am.
  • Holiday KinderCrafte at the Casula Powerhouse from 10 to 11am you can join the creative exploration with your children and become inspired to make a take-home artwork through investigative art play in this creative playgroup. Tickets cost $10 and you can get more information and make a booking at the Casula Powerhouse website HERE.
  • Cupcake Decorating at Watson’s Bay Hotel. For more information and tickets, check out Watson Bay Hotel’s website HERE.
  • Pizza Classes at Fratelli Fresh Darling Harbour. Twice a day at 11am and 1pm. The cost of the class is $10 per person.
  • Dinner time Doom at the Caylx. The plants are biting back, again!…Explore the world of carnivorous plants at The Calyx, watch a ‘feeding’ of the carnivorous plants, and create your own mini-bog terrarium with living carnivorous plants to take home. A paid activity for kids aged 6 to 12 years old. You can buy tickets at the RBG Website here.
  • Bop Till You Drop Performing Arts Program Day 1 in Mosman and Waverley. The creative kids voucher may be accepted. Click here to link to their website so that you can book tickets.
  • Bricks 4 Kids Jurassic Park style at Harbord Diggers. Kids will build LEGO® dinousaurs that come to life. Click here for more information and tickets for the Harbord Diggers Events.
  • Mini Chef’s Pizza class at The Park House in Mona Vale. You can buy tickets through the Park House website HERE.
  • Make Tie-dye bags or play a Minute to Win It plus a full day’s entertainment at Aussie Gems. There is so much on offer at Aussie Gems as each day also includes Nerf Battles, Ninja or Parkour, Basketball and Gymnastics. They’ve also put the details of their daily lunch up on the site too.   • Free Slime Workshop at Warriewood SquareThis events runs a few times during the day between 10am and 1PM. These events are always very well attended so make sure you get there early.
  • Jellybeanstreet children’s art workshops at Forest Community Arts Centre at 10am. You can make a booking on the Australian part of the Jellybeanstreet website here.
  • Zoo Adventures at Taronga. Taronga’s favourite school holiday program, which under the care of one of our keepers, kids aged 5 – 10 years old, get to explore fun and educational themes each day and learn about animals and the environment they live in. Kids will learn how our keepers look after the animals, and of course get the chance to see all of their favourite animals including Elephants and otters, and complete fun activities around the zoo.   • Try Harry Potter’s Invisibility Cloak at Target at Warringah Mall between 11am and 2pm.

The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe

The Marian Street Theatre is presenting an adaptation of The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe.

This adaptation has been created for the stage in a unique, warm-hearted style, brought to life by the company of young artists.

Spooksville at Luna Park

Spooksville is a FREE, family event on the Lavender Green at Luna Park. There is going to be a trick or treat trail presented by Wizz Fizz, face painting, spooky showtime performances, a best dressed competition as well as special Halloween-themed food offerings.

It’s free to enter and participate in the trick or treat trail. Face painting and other activities will be $2 per activity with 100% of the profits donated by Luna Park to the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation.

Spooksville is a FREE, family event on the Lavender Green at Luna Park and it starts during Sydney Spring School Holidays 2019.

Fo Fum Fiesta

The Art Gallery of NSW is celebrating colour, music, artmaking and movement at the inaugaral Fo Fum Feista.

This is a FREE festival aimed at inspiring young minds. Whether your child is musical or artistic or neither but keen to try then this is the place to visit these school holidays.

Families can roll up their sleeves and get hands-on with free artmaking and performance workshops; take a guided tour of the collection with artist David Capra and his sausage dog Teena; move and groove to live music and performances; hear stories; play and create or sit back and enjoy a free family flick in our artist-curated film series.

Lego Building at Artarmon HQ

Let your imagination run wild in A LEGO pit these school holidays.

It’s on between 10am and 4pm during school holidays and is on the Lower Ground opposite Petstock.

Gold coin entry per participant.  All participants will receive a FREE gift.

All proceeds will go towards purchasing LEGO bricks for Royal North Shore Hospital.

What’s on at the movies

I’ve seen various adverts for Angry Birds 2 so I know that’s on and the new Dora. My daughter loves Dora but I don’t know if maybe the movie is just a bit too old for her.

Event Cinemas have a program of free art activities. From making bookmarks, hats, masks and more, the arts and crafts activities are themed to the family films showing during the school break.

You must visit Event Cinemas website for scheduled activities and Family Saver tickets and session times, as details and availability vary.

Space Odyssey Tinkertoreum at the Powerhouse Museum

The kids can take part in a series of tinkering challenges to help start new habitats in space and work as a team to create a space pod using new and recycled materials.

The Powerhouse has said that this event is suitable for kids 2 years and older. Kids are free but adults will have to pay for entry.
