What a fantastic surprise. Corbett Playground wasn’t recommended to me nor had I even heard of it before, I found it by way of Google and hoped it would turn out to be worth the drive.
It was an absolutely fantastic surprise!
Where is Corbett Playground
Location and Address
Corbett Playground is hidden inside Manly Vale. You wouldn’t ordinarily come about it unless you went looking for it.
The playground shares a garden with the Manly Vale Community Garden and is right next door to the Community Centre.
The official address is 4-8 Innes Rd, Manly Vale NSW 2093.
We were heading South down Condamine and turned left into Innes. I’m not sure if you can cross over Condamine at that point if you are travelling North.
Parking is listed to on street parking and as it is in a residential road off Condamine it can be tricky to find parking.
Corbett Playground Features
We visited on a warm Spring morning without any supplies or a picnic blanket and spent an hour playing and exploring the neighboring community garden.
All theee of us, the kids and I, really enjoyed this little Playground.
The playground isn’t very big and there isn’t much to it, especially for older kids.
I would say this playground is best for pre-schoolers between 2 and 5.
The following is available for kids to play on:
- Two joined slides (slippery dips).
- A platform with a telescope.
- Small fiberglass boat to sit in.
- A climbing frame.
- Triangular Spider net.
- One of those big round swings.
- A mound in the shape of a snake to practice balancing on.
The playground also has some natural aspects to it with rocks to climb and timber logs to walk across. This is aside from the community garden.
As if that isn’t enough there is a community book share bookshelf. How special!
Trees and greenery are everywhere you look. It’s such a stunning space.
You can easily sit and have a picnic or bring a picnic blanket and sit while the kids play.
Corbett Playground Facilities
There are also BBQ facilities under a shelter. Benches and seating are set around the playground. There is a bubbler right at the entrance and the entire playground is fenced in.
The playground is generally flat and you could easily manouver a pram around.
Unfortunately there aren’t any toilets and I don’t know where you could go to get coffee or have a bathroom break nearby. There are plenty of shops on Condamine so you could try one of those.
