If you’re thinking about heading out there during the school holidays, my personal advice would be to book in advance!

April Activities at Golden Ridge Animal Farm include Easter Long Weekend Egg Hunts and a Farmer for the Day on the following weekend.

April Activities at Golden Ridge Animal Farm

Golden Ridge is a great family run and operated farm in Dural, just north of Sydney. It’s a chance for the kids to get hands on in a really happy environment. My kids love going out there and I schedule it for every second school holiday.

If you’ve never been to Golden Ridge Animal Farm and you need to know the basics of how to get there or what to expect check out our First Review of Golden Ridge HERE.

This post is specifically about what is on during the April school holidays.

Easter Long Weekend at Golden Ridge Animal Farm

The April Activities at Golden Ridge Animal Farm kick off on 19 April 2019, Good Friday and continue Saturday and Sunday. The same program detailed below will be repeated on each day.

You can purchase tickets from 9:30 am which is the same time that the Easter bag arts and crafts start. And as I said, I would book in advance.

Easter Arts and Crafts

For the Easter arts and crafts, kids will be able to decorate their own egg collection bag. Personalizing it helps them know exactly which bag is theirs during the Hunt, you know just in case the drop it in all the excitement.

Egg Hunt

The Easter Egg Hunt starts at 10:30 and is well planned to ensure that no child is left out.

Little plastic eggs are hidden around the farm for each family to find. Each child will be allowed to collect 3 eggs. These 3 eggs then translate into 3 prizes.

But… in addition to your 3 eggs, there are some extra super surprise eggs hidden!!! These are not included in the 3 these and are extra prizes!

Egg Exchange

After the Egg Hunt it’s time for the EGG EXCHANGE.

This is when you swap the eggs for prizes. Prizes vary from chocolate eggs to colouring in books. 3 eggs will get you 3 prizes.

Once you’ve completed your exchange, head inside the barn.

The hands on Farm Programme

On top of the special Egg Hunt there is also the Farm programme which runs for about 90 minutes.

We love the farm program! You get the opportunity to walk around the farm and feed animals. Aside from the farm animals, there are also llamas and deer.

At one point during the walk around a paddock is opened and you get to go in a stand with all the goats and sheep.

My favourite part is watching my kids get hands on and milk a cow or bottle feed the baby lambs and goats.
