Free Workshops at Darling Quarter
There are three FREE workshops at Darling Wuarter these Spring School Holidays.
At the Little Creators Project kids can make music, create original art, and take part in an interactive story time.
The workshops are accessible to children of all ages. No prior experience is necessary. All kids need is a willingness to try their hand at something new!
The Workshops
There are three inspiring workshops which each run for 60 minutes.
- The kids can make music with the team from Heaps Decent.
- Create original art with young Indigenous contemporary artists David and Noni Cragg.
- Take part in an interactive story time with The Beanies.
The sessions run for 60 minutes each and are led by facilitators who are experienced in engaging children (even those who may be shy) and helping everyone feel relaxed so they can have fun.
Please note that a parent or guardian must be present during the workshops.
The Music Workshop
If music is your child’s jam, join the team from Heaps Decent for a fun introduction to music production: write songs, sing, rap, make beats and explore electronic instruments. They can make a whole new track in this awesome hands-on workshop!
Art Workshop
Brother and sister duo, David and Noni Cragg, are young Indigenous contemporary artists who will lead the illustration/mixed media workshops. Under their guidance, children will be encouraged to use a fine art approach to experiment with materials including acrylics, watercolours and paint pens on art card, as they create their own depictions of native flora and fauna.
Story Time Fun
Mimi and Laura from The Beanies will engage children in an entertaining and sometimes silly story time. Become part of the story and help create the performance! It’s an amusing activity for all ages.
Two Sessions Daily
The workshops are running from 2 October to 7 October 2019.
Two sessions of each workshop will be held daily, at 11:30am-12:30pm and 1pm-2:00pm.
Come once to participate in a single workshop, or come back multiple times and do them all – the choice is yours!
