Farmer For a Day
Golden Ridge Animal farm will be open everyday of the school holidays but for one weekend kids can also be a Farmer For A Day. I did it with the kids ages ago and it was awesome! I’m hoping t .we can get there this school holiday too.
What’s Do you Do at Golden Ridge Animal Farm
Golden Ridge is a farm just outside of Sydney that has loads of animals for the kids to spend time with. From feeding the horses and llamas to milking a cow.
The kids, and adults too, also get to:
- bottle feed orphan lambs and kids; and
- cuddle baby rabbits , ducklings and chicks.
The kids can get really stuck into farm life. And that’s just the normal every day activities.

What else happens for Farmer For A Day
You get to do all of the standard activities listed above but then there is also so much more.
Additional activities include:
- Pat a Pig: you can enter our piglet patting pen and spend time getting to pat and experience our friendly little pigs.
- Scarecrow Stuffing: Fill our dressed scarecrows with as much straw as you can and get a great photo
- Golden Eggs: Hunt for the Golden eggs to WIN a special prize.
- Gumboot Throwing Competition: Not just for the kids but the adults too and prizes to be won
- Arts and Crafts: We will be also providing an arts and crafts area for the kids to stick, paint, glue and create some memorable moments.
- Egg collecting: Collect the plastic coloured eggs with the hens in the chicken coop and return the eggs to the farmer to win a prize!
- Digging for Vegetables; and
- The famous Egg Smash!!
