Animal Nursery Rhymes

A few years back I published a whole bunch of Nursery Rhymes on the site and I hadn’t thought about them since. Until my little one started telling me new Nursery Rhymes and I went back to have a look at the ones on the AllThingsMomSydney.

It has now come time to add to those Nursery Rhymes with some Animal Nursery Rhymes.

The second nursery rhyme is a cheeky little one that I didn’t know about until I heard it being sung, the others should be quite familiar to you. And the last is one I can’t stand but I’ve included it in case you’ve heard it and have been looking for the words.

Enjoy!

Some lovely Animal Nursery Rhymes brought about by my daughter learning some new nursery rhymes at school.

A few you many know, one you probably don't and one I really don't like.

Animal Nursery Rhymes

As with the previous Nursery Rhymes, I have put each rhyme together with beautiful photographs of animals in a single image so that you can downloaded them and save them to your phone.

In this way, your child is able to identify the animal as well as sing the song and you won’t have to scroll through the whole site to find it.

This Little Piggy

This is one of my favourites and not just of the Animal Nursery Rhymes, even with my kids being 4 and 6 I still play this with them on their fingers and toes.

Animal Nursery Rhymes have to include This Little Piggy. Such a sweet nursery rhyme.

Naughty Kitty Cat

I love this little nursery rhyme. It is so cute. Even when it is being sung at top screechy volume to our poor cat.

I love this Animal Nursery Rhyme. It's so cheeky but very apt in our house as we have a naughty kitty cat!

Little Peter Rabbit

This is such a cute little Animal Nursery Rhyme all about little Peter Rabbit. I’ve included the first verse which is the most commonly known in the image below but there is more to the song!

Little Peter Rabbit had a fly upon his nose and other Animal Nursery Rhymes.

The rest of the Little Peter Rabbit Lyrics

Little Peter rabbit had a very floppy ear, oh dear!
Little Peter rabbit had a very floppy ear, oh dear!
Little Peter rabbit had a very floppy ear, oh dear!
So he flipped it and he flopped it ’til it stood up straight.

Little Peter rabbit had a prickle in his paw
Little Peter rabbit had a prickle in his paw
Little Peter rabbit had a prickle in his paw
So he pulled it and he pulled it and it came right out.

Little Peter rabbit had a fly upon his nose
Little Peter rabbit had a fly upon his nose
Little Peter rabbit had a fly upon his nose
So he flipped it and he flopped it and it flew away.

Little Arabella Miller

This is such a cute little Rhyme! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

I just love this rhyme and had to include it in Animal Nursery Rhymes. How cute is the name Arabella Miller and the fact that finds a caterpillar makes me smile.

Baa Baa Black Sheep

An absolutely classic Animal Nursery Rhyme, Baa Baa Black sheep.

And now for the Animal Nursery Rhyme I can’t stand…

Little Bunny Foo Foo

This is a nursery rhyme that the Wiggles have really made famous. I really don’t like it, I think it’s because of the word “Goon” which is a word I hate. I couldn’t even bring myself to make a downloadable image for the Nursery Rhyme, my apologies.

Little Bunny Foo Foo

Little Bunny Foo Foo
Hopping through the forest,
Scooping up the field mice
And bopping them on the head.
And down, down, down came the Good Fairy, and said:
“Little Bunny Foo Foo
I don’t want to see you
Scooping up the field mice
And bopping them on the head.
I’m going to give you three chances,
And if you don’t behave,
I’m going to turn you into a…GOOOOOON!”

This is repeated and each time with one less chance.

Little Bunny Foo Foo
Hopping through the forest,
Scooping up the field mice
And bopping them on the head.
And down, down, down came the Good Fairy, and said:
“Little Bunny Foo Foo
I don’t want to see you
Scooping up the field mice
And bopping them on the head.
Little Bunny Foo Foo
Hopping through the forest,
Scooping up the field mice
And bopping them on the head.
“That’s it.”
Then the Good Fairy came down,
And then she turned Little Bunny Foo Foo into a…GOOOOOON!

And then at the end you’re meant to say “Moral of the story is HARE today GOON tomorrow”.
